IMDb

I've been trying to upload all of my old short films on IMDb, which, as we all know, is an important step towards fame and fortune in a young filmmaker's life. They make it ridiculously difficult to get listed on there for some reason. I've got to assume has something to do with the site being British, but the listings are finally starting to show up. Here's the link to "Gunmetal Grey":

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1280516/

Vote for it if you've seen it. If you haven't, you can go here and do so (and then follow step one):

Hopefully the others will show up soon. I'll post links for them then.

Best Picture

cmf best pic bump - ryan prows

Wanted to post another bump from the upcoming CMF tour, but now with pictures! I made the still camera viewfinder look in final cut, since I'm retarded at other programs that'd actually do it pretty easily. I thought the window looked cool with everything selected on the track. Some very Free Mason, golden ratio, type of shit. Spooky.

Basketball Anyone?

B-Ball Promo - Ryan Prows

Shot a second round of promo videos for CMF, including this little gem. Still working within the 90's theme, though this time at the b-ball courts.

Public School. Finally. WTFuck!

Sitting at a post house this very minute, watching the transfer of an HD master of the footage for a short film I did called "Public School" so Doug over at UpThink can do the effects and color correction. I shot this a little over two years ago now, and while it's had many stops and starts on the long road to getting it completed, I'm still excited as hell about it and think it's going to be something new and different from me. I think it's got some cool stuff to say, and hope people will dig it. Either way, I've finished the final cut, and now it's finally in the final stages of finally being completed. Finally.

I also heard some of the score Terry's been writing for it, and think it's going to sound great and fit perfectly. It finally feels like it's actually coming together. The plan is to get this into a ton of festivals, and do some screenings in town as well. Shit, I think it's earned it at this point. And everyone that helped out and have been waiting around for it have earned it too.

MORE Skate Rink Bumps

CMF bump: Best Drama - CMF

CMF Bump - CMF

CMF Bump 2 - CMF

Still working on the promo stuff for the upcoming CMF tour. These are a couple more bumps, one of which will be part of a series of skits that play announcing each category at the shows, that are in various stages of post. Still trying to figure my way around the footage, and cut some great looking stuff. Mainly playing with titles, music, and info presented in the bumps at this point. And trying to figure out an overall structure for the editing. Will I have titles throughout or at the end only, will I have atmosphere shots in every one with the CMF logos, that kind of thing.

Skate Rink Bumps

Skate Rink Bumps - Ryan Prows

Shot at a local skating rink yesterday for the upcoming CMF tour's promotional stuff. We're doing an early 90's theme this year, so I wanted to do some goofy stuff at a skating rink. I just threw this together a couple of minutes ago to have something roughed out before the weekend. Very dry stuff I've been getting out of this footage so far, which is a definite success in my mind.

CMF Intros

I'm about to go on tour again with CMF soon, and have been thinking about the stuff I've done for them over the past year. I wanted to post some of the better past intros, which were little shorts I made to play at the beginning of each school's screening and were intended to introduce CMF and the hosts of the show in a fun or interesting light. I put alot of thought, work and time into several of these, which was a sort of fun exercise at producing a ton of content every week on the fly. It also became very frustrating, as they wouldn't really give me the resources I needed to produce everything at the level I wanted. I guess it comes down to some happy medium needing to be struck, but I felt more often than not that I was screaming in a hurricane in wanting to produce high quality content that showed the company in a good light and they wanted something that cost no money and would fill the gap before the students' shorts played. I guess I can see it both ways, but it sucked to work so hard on a bunch of stuff that I'd never put on my reel. Live and learn, folks.

New Blog. Believe It.

Hello All,

Wanted a new place to be able to post work when I do it, and here it is.  I'll start with a string of commercials I've been working on or will soon finish up.  Please let me know what you think.
